I know that there is this method call cryopreservation to preserve cells in a very low temperature. However, I cannot find any resources online that tells me how it is being done or more importantly the stages of cryopreservation and what I must look out for. Please enlighten me.

In cryopreservation, liquid nitrogen is used to preserve cells. Cells are usually stored in a 10% DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide) and 90% Fetal Bovine Serum solution. They are transferred into cryo vials and stored in liquid nitrogen cryo tanks. Cells may be preserved at this state for many years.
