I heard that people who do the GED are less likely to get well paid jobs despite the type of degree they got in varsity. Is that true?

I would take a GED as less than a High School Diploma. Why? Easy...if you couldn't commit to going to High School for four years, what makes me think you would do the same for my company?

High School isn't about classes, it is about survival. You learn how to deal with all sorts of people. Those I know who "ditched out" or "were done with that as soon as they were 17" weren't exactly reputable people.

Pregnant teens are different, mainly because they are typically forced out of the public school system. That is wrong and different. However, everyone else should keep their rear end in school.

NOW if you are looking to go to University, it is up to the University as to what their opinion is. Frankly, employers don't care after University about High School all too much. What is more important is the University Degree...so if you are doing that, awesome...

But, if you just keep looking at the GED as an excuse to drop out and you aren't looking for a University Education as of now....stay in school.

In NYC, about half the population has a GED dipolma. Reason only half of high school students in NYC manage to graduate on time. Since you'll probably end up with a dead end job with a high school dipolma as well as with a GED is doesn't make a difference. GED and a high school dipolma are worth the same in the job market.
