I have used both Macs and PCs for everything from database design, programming, web design, artwork, photos etc. If you need to do anything do to with programming or databases then get a PC - for anything else definitely go for a Mac. Macs are generally easier and more fun to use, don't get viruses, don't break down as often and are brilliant for music, photos, artwork, web design, presentations plus your basic word procesing and spreadsheets and stuff.

if you can afford it and all you plan to do is the basic computing stuff (some office stuff, maybe a few videos, some pic editing, email, etc.) then go with the mac. New macs run off the intel processor and can run just about everything windows can run. If you are more into gaming and want to have high end equipment or a more powerful experience and plan on doing some upgrades or alot of full screen type stuff that requires alot of video memory then go with the high end pc.
Macs overall are more stable and just plain work because of the way they are setup to just run programs rather than install them, pc's are more configurable because of the way they are made.

That entirely dependes what you are going to use it for. If you want a lot of processor power to do something like video editing rendering effects and so on then you want a dual processor Power Mac G5. If you have more general daily tasks in mind then a P.C will offer you more software choices and yes Lots of games (although top titles do come out for the Mac too.) and you'll fit in with the rest of the world but Macs do work better, are more straight forward in there interfaces and don't go down with viruses (so you can go to all those dodgy websites with out fear).
It's a tough decision but I went with Mac in the end.

macs do have an prolonged lifespan, i'm a mac person, and ive had my mac for a three hundred and sixty 5 days so some distance and theres been no issues of it in any respect! Macs are solid for modifying video clips and pictures, and such, on an analogous time as computer is greater appropriate for video games. in case you acquire video games lots, then computer could be the greater appropriate determination. Macs tend to be slightly costly, yet they're properly worth it! I edit video clips lots, so while i replaced into procuring my new laptop final three hundred and sixty 5 days, i desperate to pass with mac, because of the fact which you may get a marvelous modifying utility called "very final cut back convey", which you cant get on computer. Macs are great rapid and are much less in all threat to get viruses as long as you dont acquire from untrusted web pages. Macs have marvelous high quality and are great rapid., on an analogous time as computer high quality remains solid, yet they're greater in all threat to get viruses and issues like that. So particularly, the alternative is as much as you! the two computers are great, ! :)

Macs, quite simply, are for the soft of head and heavy of pocket.
If you're willing to learn a bit about PCs and remember to do certain things (i.e. download updates for virus software etc, stay away from certain sites, say no to certain downloads) then PC is far superior.
For the price of a high-end mac you could get a super-kitted out PC, with a big monitor and every accessorie known to human kind.
Then again, you really need to think about what you want to do with your computer before you decide on what to buy!

Stay with the PC format. Macs look nice but are dear for what they are and the available software is limited, as are upgrades of hard ware. PCs are far more flexible and are easier to upgrade on the hardware side. If the Windows OS is not your thing, there are others; Linnux for example.

well it depends on your preference personally i would opt for a high end pc. it will last longer and is generally an all round helpful machine,,
The mac is a good computer but can be quite expensive for a good one. they are useful for working with film and things like that and a bonus is there are hardly as many viruses capable of wrecking your machine like a pc.
Personally get a pc it can run everything you can get loads of software and it will more than likely last longer plus dvd writers etc..

PC. It's more of a personal preference issue, but macs can't run as much software as computers. And if you get a high end pc, you'll be able to run games on it, but on a mac, no games are released for it.

5% of the population will say Mac!
What do you plan to do on it?
Figure out what programs you want to run (Lots more stuff runs on windows) and go to a computer store to play with a few.
Go to Dell and price out the features you want, so you will have an idea of what to spend.
