Even though war is no real solution, it can achieve certain short term objectives if planned and executed properly........ had it not been so, there would not have been so many wars in the history fought by capable and wise rulers. However, even these short term objectives are achieved only for the time being..... in order to reap lasting benefits it becomes necessary to carry out a much bigger plan post war, especially since war invariably creates an indelible bitterness in the minds of the vanquished which keeps hitting back in innumerable ways for a long long period of time after the war is over. Unless the victor can win the confidence of the vanquished in due course of time through post war activities, even short term gains made in the war become elusive soon enough. This is why war is no real solution ...... it can at best be the first step to be followed by a plethora of other friendly and confidence winning steps in a planned way. Compared to this, the other options of negotiations and give and take can be less costly and more effective between two nations.

It all depends really. I mean, just look at Japan. After we defeated it in WWII it become a great country and ally. Germany has changed a great deal for the better as well. The world is deffinently a better place with these countries the way they are today. I some how can't help but feel all the wars since WWI have been connected though. So will war ever solve all the worlds problems? no way, but it has been the solution before.

War is never a good idea, but when all else has failed it may be necessary. The problem with wars now, are that the ones that cause the wars are not there for the fight, they just sit back in their luxury offices or homes and dictate, and never face any danger. I think that if the ones who think they need a war should be up front facing the other leader of that country, just like in the times of history, then they might think twice about the need for the war!

War is not a solution, war is business like any other. Final goal of any war is to make profit.

How does one eliminate the greed that started the war? (Greed is not limited to money.) How are the few charismatic leaders who incite the masses controlled/stopped? Who gets to make the decisions? Is any of this taken into account when we choose our church leaders, hire our children's teachers, go into the voting machines ....? You are right to doubt war as a solution. War is not even the real problem.

Depends what the problem is. If you're looking to support your nation's military economy then yes, war is the solution.

I believe war is a non - solution, or better stil; it proves the politicians are unable to find a solution in given circumstances...Furthermore it indicates total lack of common sense in human relations...in short; it is the worst thing that can happen to any nation involved...
