1) Get a piece of paper, a pencil, and some paint.

2) On the paper, draw a sunset with your pencil.

3) Paint it.

Wet on wet. That is create a wash on the whole of your paper using water and a brush. Use a strong yellow acrylic (watered down) or water colour and create your half sun first with this. Keep the paper wet, though not soaked. Now apply some orange and red tones to the sunset by letting it 'bleed' into the yellow.

It's a good idea to practise on rough paper first to get desired effect.

Don't forget to paint reflection using thin wavy lines of red/orange into the sea.

Use same wet on wet effect for sea. Leave some white paper showing - that is little horizontal streaks to add character to the sea.

just get out a picture from google, and paint exactly what you see. don't worry if you think you're doing it wrong, just keep doing it exactly like you see it in the picture. in the end, it will be great.
add all the little details- tiny clouds etc.

The easiest way is in the water. divide your paper in half. The water on the bottom is blue. Put the sun on the half line rising.
