As Jixer says, if ist drive by wire (after 2001 I think) then its dead easy.
Some tuning companies throw it in for free when chipping your car.

Older cruise control can still be fitted, but its not anywhere near easy.

It depends on the model year of your A3 the latest A3's & Golfs just require fitting of the cruise control type stalk and the ECU reprogramming.
As the car is 'fly by wire' cruise control functions are all done via the ecu with no need for additional hardware (apart from the stalk)
I know this as have had this done to a Golf '06 Tdi at a cost of £160 by main agents.
Give your Audi dealer a call.
Hope this helps.

It is ALWAYS best to have devices such as these fitted by the factory during build. The electronics on vehicles are such that unless the person undertaking this type of aftermarket work is a REAL expert, the vehicle will develop other seemingly unrelated problems and this can be very costly. The other aspect is safety. The factory fit unit has had so many rigerous checks and has inbuilt failsafes, the likelyhood of it going wrong in very very small. An afterfit device does not have that same level of reliability. Is your life worth so little you would take that chance?

Audi A-3 doesn't come with Cruise? Added on aftermarket cruise are tacky and require wiring that gos thru the fire wall.

no,i don't think so well you can check on the net of the Audi website but according to me you cant cause it then needs to install a computer and the steering wheel will have to be change and Evey thing that's why i don't think so i should be factory installed.but i could be wrong so check on the web about its features and if they say its not optional then you cant add.

For older A3's it's dead easy, as long as you know how to do it.
The only cost is the new switch that you have to put.
Wiring though is tricky and you have to open the engine management system.

Yes there are after market versions of cruse control but its not as neat an installation as the factory fit would not personally recommend it.Regards Mick UK.
