It seems most logical to blame those directly responsible for beginning the mess: the Bush Administration. It was they who went around mustering support for the war at the start and then went in over and above the United Nations and invaded. It would be inaccurate to blame the Democrats, they were not in power. It would be inaccurate to blame the 'Liberal Media' because there was much more talking up of the war amongst the likes of Fox etc than there were from more 'Liberal' media sources. Blaming Liberals or people in the blue states is silly for the same reason as blaming the Democrats. And to blame "Islamo Fascists" is just plain uninformed. Anyone who has any idea of the Middle East pre-9/11 and the Iraq invasion knew that Saddam and Osama were as far away from allies as they could be. Osama hated the secularist rule of Saddam in Iraq. And although Al Qaeda is not the only "Islamo Fascist" group, it is far above and beyond the power and reach of any other such group.

Iran.....the war is truly with the axis of evil. The battleground simply happens to be in Iraq. The Iranians flooded Iraq with insurgents whom were on a simple mission to keep Iraq unstable long enough for the three separate factions to gather in strength and begin civil war. Mission accomplished.
A free Iraq is Iran's worst nightmare for their government hold extremist fascist views. Iran quite possibly could fall from within as would Syria if Iraq becomes a true democracy.
On a side note...even Saddam's own top generals believed they had weapons of mass destruction at they're disposal. This was what Saddam wanted the world to believe. It gave him leverage. He never believed we would actually invade before it was too late. So ofcourse intel would suggest presence of WMD's.

There is enough blame to go around for all political parties, media and ideologies. I think instead of attempting to place blame we should be doing our best to make the situation palatable. This will require tolerance and patience on all sides. The American public must realize that we will always be involved in the Middle East militarily. We have no choice if we want to maintain our own way of life. This is not just due to oil consumption, but it does play a part. We must secure peace in the region for the good of all the world.

Your list plus the Conservative media, the Republicans, the Conservatives People in the Red states, the Bath party. But mostly the age old bickering between the Sunnies and the Shiites and Saddam for repressing these people for so long.

That's just it is it not?
You just cannot blame ONE particular group or person, oh, I suppose you could out of bias partisan politics blame Bush, for it, by taking action, or Clinton for not taking action, for Bin Laden for his action, or the U.S. and all it's leaders for getting involved in the Middle East back in the 40's because of the oil, it is just one big mess. So..The question is....How do we solve it?

That's were we get into a lot of disagreements, it is like opinions, everybody got one

Those that made the arguement that we needed to go into Iraq. Those that argued that Iraq was more important than Osama bin Laden and Kim Jong Ill. Those are who I think should be held accountable.

The president who had no exit plan. The vice president for drumming up support with phony reasons. The secretary of defense for accepting without questioning.

Certainly every politician, democrat and republican, who agreed without examination. The conservative media, The GOP. People in RED states.

Everyone takes some degree of blame in this

In the situation in Iraq I blame Bush and every member of congress who voted to go to war based on the testimony of one paid CIA informant Ahemed Chabali.

I blame the media for not giving us the correct information before the war and now. I blame the American people who were fast to forget why we went to Iraq and now believe we are there to fight the war on terrorism.

Anyone other than President Bush and his cabinet. It's Clinton's fault. It's Saddam's fault. It's the oil's fault. It's the terrorists fault. It's the fault of Mission Accomplished.
