Veto:
The word 'veto' comes from Latin and literally means I forbid. It is used to denote that a certain party has the right unilaterally to stop a certain piece of legislation. A veto thus gives unlimited power to stop changes, but not to adopt them.
The veto originated with the Roman tribunes who had the power to unilaterally refuse legislation passed by the Roman Senate.
Kudos:
Kudos (IPA: ['kü-"däs], ['kju:dɒs], from the Greek κύδος kydos (literally "that which is heard of") means fame and renown resulting from an act or achievement; by extension is often used as a praising remark. It entered English as British university slang in the early 1800s.

To Veto is to stop someone doing something, to not allow them, in some cases, like in the EU certain countries have the right of veto, that means that, even if everyone else wqant to do something, someone with the right of Veto can stop them.
Kudos is like a 'well done' for soemthing, means you like what someone has done of said, giving them Kudos is like a pat on the back, but a bit more.

Look on dictionary.com - that woud give you the best explanation. I dont know what kudos means either - it sounds weird though. Veto i think is to cancel out something - if there is a vote or something the person in charge can veto the vote and make other peoples votes not count. I think its something like that anyway

Please ask the next person who wants to give you a birthday or christmas present to make it a DICTIONARY. The most useful and practical possession any of us could desire.
VETO : A killer "no" vote. Even if all others vote "yes", the veto will override them and the decision will be ...... "NO".
KUDOS : Like a gold star at school. Glory, fame or prestige.
The confusion surrounding this word probably stems from the fact that it ends in 'S' and looks like a plural noun. It isn't.
So we should ask "What IS kudos?"
