Hello,

Sorry! to hear your in pain at the moment. I'm assuming the pain is in the same foot you broke orginally. OK! it is possible to have damaged the foot again (could be the same brake or facture site as the previous brake?) through accident or injury, or through bad foot wear, bad posture, there are numerous possiblities here.

**Remember there are about 30 small bones that make up each foot, and so the foot is quite a complicated structure to start with.

**As the foot is so important for daily movement, balance and overall posture. Its very important not to delay any possible treatment/s.

**You definately shouldnt delay going to your GP (family doctor) as you might well need another x-ray to confirm any new facture or confirm the old site has refactured (possibly), or just to re-assure you that infact its not broken merely a spain, or badly pulled muscle, etc.

**Get too a doctor ASAP! in the mean time bandaging the foot up is fine & safe, rest is probably the best thing until you've seen the doctor. Pain killers might be approapriate?

Arthritis is a condition that affects the joints so, unless you managed to break a joint in your foot, arthritis is not your problem!

It's doubtful that it's broken again, unless you injured it again.

The most likely answer is that it's the weather. I have various old breaks in bones and the last week or so I've woken up feeling like I've been in a fight they've been that sore!

The following page details various pains caused by weather changes: http://health.2theadvocate.com/index.cfm?PageType=itemDetail&Item_ID=97435&Site_Cat_ID=454

The best thing to do is take a couple of pain killers and applying a heat pad or hot water bottle to the affected area my ease the pain too.

Welcolme to the wonderful word of Arthritis. Alcohol can work wonders at numbing the pain!! Try Devils Claw as an altertnative remedy as opposed to anti inflamatories and other NSAID's perscribed by GP's Other than that keep area dry and warm!!

I suffer every year in damp or wet weather coz I broke my neck 25 years ago - as I get older the pain gets worse - its just rheumatism or arthritis. Not much you can do but take pain relief when its really bad xx

it sounds like its probably arthritis. iv had problems with my hip for a few years and it always gets really bad when it starts to get really cold. mine is caused from damage that i did when i used to be a dancer a few years ago. you should see a doctor as although they cant make it go away they can give you something to make it less painful. mine got to the point where it was unbearable for me to move.....you dont want to let it get to that stage! also keep warm.

It could be the start of arthritis.
Where the new bone remade itself,it causes a gap between the old and new bone.
The cold and damp weather doesn't help matters.
Best bet, keep your feet warm at all times, and this should help to relieve the pain.

i broke my foot too but didn't find out until i had an x ray for something else. can't remember what. A hairline crack can remain for life if u r unlucky. where on ur foot is it? u should see ur gp to find out about support or if a minor op would cure it. sounds a bit scarey but it might be necessary. i hope it isn't of course.

nice pic is that really u?
