You should care because getting fired will but a big black mark on your records & you will suffer when trying to get another job. New employers will want to contact the place where you got fired from & ask about you. If they find out the truth, you probably wont get the job. Good Luck Man!

I've been there. You can slap yourself all you want to, it won't help. If you don't care, get another job. Cuz you can't make yourself care. Like me, I hate my job and I don't care at all if I get fired (actually I daydream of it happening) and I've accepted it. I could get another job, but then the new boss would expect me to work and at least the bosses here know not to expect it.

sounds to me like your not interested in your job or your just bored with the kind of work you do. Maybe it's time for a change. What would you be most interested in? If you don't have the skills to do the type of work you would like,,then I suggest you focus on going back to school..take some evening or morning classes..work around your job...At least it's something to look forward to..just knowing you won't be stuck with your old job for the rest of your life will make each day better for you..good luck.

i'm in the same boat. i just do my job. some bosses hate you for doing what is right if they're doing something wrong; worse, politicking can come into the picture and ruin it real bad for those who are trying to do an honest day's work. i've come to the point when i don't really care anymore if i get fired so long as i'm doing my job.
but as a fallback, i started applying in other companies.

The fact that you care about not caring is showing a little guilt. Try slapping yourself and if that doesn't work, then start looking for a more fulfilling job.

If your attitude doesn't change or gets worse, I think you ought to start looking for another job. It would be better for everyone.

thats is not good... it means you are not anymore a good employee since you dont care about what you are going to do in the company.... so be careful...... sometimes too much confidence in the corporate would would mean disaster.. not to you but to the people around you probably..........
