You're the one carrying the baby for 9 months... you get to name the baby...plain & simple.

You could make Lily the middle name and then find another first name you can both agree on. Or since Lily is a feminine flower name maybe you can try to find another name with that style.

My sister wanted to name her baby Lily Grace. She ended up choosing Addison. They call her Addi or Addi Grace. Run that one by your hubby and see if he likes it.

Have you suggested Lily for a middle name?

What about other simple elegant names like Grace, Faith, Hope, Emily, Claire, etc.

well, why not tell your boyfriend that if the baby is a boy, he can pick the name and if the baby is a girl, you get to pick the name. Or just ask him why he doesn't like the name ?

Split the difference....you pick one name and he can chose another. Then when the child is born write the names each on a separate piece of paper , put them up in bag or something and one of you close your eyes then pull one of the papers and the first name you pull out will be the baby's first name and the second paper will hold the middle name.

since he doesnt like lily why not make a deal with him. If you get to keep lily as the first name, let him choose the middle name. that way both of you get to choose her name.

He also created the child, so he gets to decide, too! Perhaps you could try a variation of Lily, like Lilyrose, Lilabet, Lillian, Liliana, et cetera. If he still doesn't like it, try looking at other names for your baby.

Try Lillian or Lilyanne, or use it as a middle name- Sarah Lily or Addison Lily-- just some examples.

My boyfriend disagree's with every name i like, boy or girl. But seeing as its going to take his surname, and if its a boy it will have his first name as a middle name, then i get final say on our beans first name.

My husband and I decided that I can pick the first name if it's a girl and he can choose the middle name. And if it's a boy, he can pick the first name and I will choose the middle name. It worked for us. Hopefully you guys can work it out.
