my niece told me a few weeks ago, after masturbating that she had a really sharp pain in her side that didnt go away until 3 or 4 days later. i am really worried about her. could this be something serious? or what will make it go away?

I'm assuming she is not very old. I would guess that she is starting to explore masturbation because of new hormones, and that those hormones are also doing other things like causing more painful menstrual cramps. Another thing I can think of is that while masturbating people tense their muscles and if she is not in shape maybe she just made her abdominal muscles sore or sprained. My last suggestion is that perhaps she got a bladder infection -- depending on how she was masturbating she might have gotten some bacteria in her urinary tract.

I doubt she got it from masturbating, because your vagina isn't exactly connected any side of the body. My opinion is its something else. I'd definately go to the doctor and have that checked out just to be sure.

it might be pain from the muscles contracting ive had that pain before
