Learn to spend less than you earn. You will always come out ahead.
Keep a log of expenses to find out where your money is going.
Make up a budget for expenses that are absolutely necessary. Then find ways to keep expenses under budget.

For example: I am hooked on Starbucks coffee. It is way cheaper for me to buy a pound of ground coffee and brew my own, as opposed to driving to the nearest Starbucks and buying brewed coffee by the cup.

Save some of your pay every week, pay bills on time, if you have a windfall put it on your bills before anything else, keep a look out for sales and chances to purchase when stores have interest free terms. Avoid impulse buying. Don't gamble. Don't do drugs or alcohol. Get a car that's economical. Look to investing your money with a reputable firm for future security.
Enjoy your working life.
