I miscarried 2 weeks ago and am due for a pap smear and was wondering if anyone knew when it's safe to have one done.
Thanks

Yes. It is perfectly safe to have the pap smear done. Not only safe, but sensible. You could have an infection from the miscarriage, and would certainly want to have the all clear before you tried again. Anytime after your cycles reset and the normal pattern resestablishes itself you can have one done. You might also want to check with your doctor, as it is quite possible that a pap smear was taken when they did the first ob check. If that was the case, you won't need to do another one for a year.

I have had 6 misscarriages and i had a checkup within a couple of weeks after all of them this generally included a papsmear but if you were examined during your pregnancy a papsmear was probably done.i would scedule one but lrt your doctor know if it not the same doctor you used for the pregnancy.P.S. sorry about your loss i know it hurts.

You are supposed to have one done after a miscarriage and/or an abortion
