Moorabbin is about 20 minutes drive from the CBD or 25-35 minutes on a train depending on whether you get express or stopping all stations. It is about 15 minutes walk from the train station to the campus or you can keep an eye out for a bus to do it in 5. The trains and buses use the same ticketing system so you shouldn't have to pay extra for the bus.
The Holmesglen head campus is in Holmesglen, it is about the same distance from the city but is right next to the train station so it's a bit easier to get to.

You can get a train to Moorabbin and a bus from the station to the school.
It is not an underground station. Melbourne only has 3 of those.
The city is about 30 minutes train ride from Moorabbin.
