why not go on personalcreations.com or another personalization site and buy her a doormat with the family name on or something like that? it will be something people see every time they come to her door. she'd love it! remember, if you do personalize, you won't use and apostrophe.
examples: The Millers or if the name ends in an S, do:
The Rubbs Family so there's no question if it would be Rubbses or just Rubbs
seriously, check out those doormats, they're pretty cool!
good luck

I can help you get a bit of what you want, when is christmas time wht you need to do is to visit her not as a guess but as your mum and she is going to be unhappy but igorn and pretend you did not heard anything, laugh for she been rude to and bee nice to her, she will stop been rude and start thinking that you have change to be a good girl, when is diner time sit and eat with her and have a good time after diner you then have to ask her nicely why she don't get on well you have and ask her if you've done any bad thing to her if she says yes apologise to her in front of your boyfriend or husband and anyone there and show her some respect , Buy her some thing truely from your heart and give t to her after the apologiseing to her for what you have done or haven't done.

Depends on how much you want to spend too? How about gardening vouchers or theatre vouchers then she can do what she wants with them? Does she have a hobby so you could theme her present to that? Another good one is get her a subscription to her favourite magazine. If you are in the UK W H Smith do a really good deal where you pay for a 'pack' from the shop and you get to chose from about six different magazines you want - I don't think it shows how much you've spent on the present either so she would never know. Otherwise how about asking your husband for inspiration - after all it's his Mother?!

I have only been with my boyfriend for about 6 months, and although i don't NOT get on with his mum, we're not exactly best friends. I wasn't sure what to get her for christmas, but in the end i decided to get her something to go with what she's interested in. I.E. She loves cooking, so i bought her Jamie Olivers new book. I know it doesn't sound that exciting, but i know it's something that she'll use and it's better than just buying smellies or something that she'll never use. Good luck!

There is an artist out of Boise that works in metal. She makes the most exquisite ornaments and jewelry. I got to see her workroom in July and decided I was going to buy one of her pieces for my boyfriend's mom for Christmas. I really love my boyfriend's mom, and I think this is a wonderful gift. She does commissioned work and she can work with etching photographs, etc. Check out her website and feel free to contact her. She's a wonderful person and extremely talented.

Go to www.snapfish.com and if you have a digital camera you can put some photos on there and then do what I did. Order a calendar with photos of her children and grandchildren etc. She would get at least 12 pictures of the things she cares about.

How about buying a plant & a plant pot, decorating the plant pot for her & adding things like her name on the front of it, etc. You usually can't go wrong with a handmade present, because people realise just how much effort has been put into it. I hope this helps & i hope you find exactly what you are looking for

The best present for a difficult mother in law is by far the infamous gift voucher. Make it her choice what she wants!!

A nice soy candle might work, or even the battery operated candles. This way when she uses or sees your gift, it will remind her that you gave it to her. Maybe that might help to get along better.

The best bet for you would be to tell your wife exactly what you are asking here. Not only will she tell you the perfect gift idea, but you'll score mega points with her as well!
