It is very true. Your mind leads you to believe what you want. Like if you think you can succeed than you will if you think you can't than you won't.

You can PLAN to build a house if you have all the money you need, you can lay the foundation, build extra strong walls, paint it exactly the color you want, and plant all the gardens you want. BUT, if a freaking tornado hits it, you are SOL!
So, yes, you are the "master of your own destiny", assuming God doesn't have a beef with ya! :)

i think its both true and false
- you have some freewill...
- you have some things, like your family circumstances that are within your parents realm of destiny that mold your own destiny.
- then there are just things that are outside of your control that other people or other environmental factors that are beyond your control.
