A friend of mine, close to one of the BCCI bigwigs family tells me this: There is an interesting solution being worked out by the crafty politicians in the BCCI. This is in wake of the increasing criticism by the TV media and politicians. Tendulkar and Dravid would immediately retire from International cricket. A statement would blame both Members of Parliament and the Media for cutting short their careers. They would go on to say that their cricketing achivements have been far greater than what politicians have achieved in administration in 50 years. (The term used would be "politicians" to escape a privilege motion). There would be attacks on specific news channels including Aaj Tak. The key idea is to do this immediately after the ODI series. Tendulkar would say - he would not play the world cup, come what may.

Once that realisation comes, that these two won't play the WC, the ire will be turned against politicians and the media - forcing them to shut up.

Tendulkar and Dravid have been talked to. Kumble has been excused from the scheme of things. As for Chappell, he would resign. And when India get a drubbing in the test series, there will be calls to recall Dravid and Tendulkar.

Yes, a journalist friend of mine - working for a NCP owned newspaper confirms this plan - with a few variations. The actual threat of retiring wouldn't be carried out. It will be "leaked" to the press that Sachin and Rahul intend to retire for once and for all. And that decision would not be reversible. Any decision to act out the threat will be taken only after reactions to the "press rumor" are assessed.

There is however, one problem still. According to my friend, both these players have agreed to the plan with one condition. The decision to retire would be irreversible. Once done, they will never again play International cricket - whatever happens. (Even if it means the PM appealing to them to reconsider their decision.)

What a rubbish thing u have spoted!!! Do u know importance of the players u r talking about ?
Dravid and Tendulkar are required in the team not only for world cup but also after that.
Remember my words, Ganguly can do nothing without support of Dravid and Sachin, even if he becomes captain of the team.
If ur news are fact then outcome will be proved more worst than yesterday's defeat.
Dravid and Sachin are great. If u want someone to be dropped then think about RAINA, JAFFER, KARTIK and MONGIA. But don't think even in dream about retirement of these two legends.

Whether or not what you're saying will happen, the fact is that Indian cricket is a political game where a bunch of fame & money hungry fat, completely un-athletic morons decide what's what. I have been disillusioned by Indian cricket ever since the whole Azhar-Jadeja-match-fixing scandal broke out (long time ago, right!) and since then, I rarely get my hopes up.

But hey, the game still rocks....and the best memory I'll cherish always.....Aus vs. SA...the highest-scoring match ever, where SA came from behind to make the 434 or whtever runs that too against the best team of all time. That is the spirit of cricket.

WOW! Nice plan!

There are additional advantages. Ganguly and VVS Lakshman will be brought in for the test team...Gangs...the skipper. They lose 3-0 and the very people asking for Dravid's head will be asking him to come back.

A nation of extreme reactions!

THEY WILL NEVER UNLESS REMOVED.

Better;

DRAVID be removed from CAPTAINCY and ODI-Why?

The worst captain-
could not control SA from 6 wicket down for 76; finally SA made 275.
Any 18yrs child can do better job.

He made 63 in 103 balls and it is equvalent of 184 in 50 overs. This means he played for his retaintion in the team but not for win of INDIA.
HE SCORED +50 for 63 but SCORED (NEGETIVE) -100 for playing TEST Match in ODI.

The net score of dravid is (negative)-50. This means he can play TEST but he shall be removed from ODI side of INDIA.

Shri DHONI be made CAPTAIN- Why?

He scored 55 in 48 balls, this is equivalent to 344 runs in 50 overs. Therefore he played for win of INDIA. HE GOT 50 FOR SCORING 55, and 100 FOR PLAYING FOR WIN OF INDIA and not mere for his retaintion in the team.

THEREFORE DHONI WITH 150 MARKS OUT OF 100 WILL THE CAPTAIN IN THE NEXT ODI

Shri DRAVID WITH (-)50 SCORE SHALL BE DROPPED FROM ODI AND RESERVED FOR TEST ONLY.
