Don't worry in that regard. If so the IP of the ISP only will be tracked.

Bit Torrent's are usually Safe, although never having used one, they should not really have the ability to 'infiltrate' your computer, as long as you have a firewall running. Your IP will most probably be logged, and to stop illegal material being uploaded you should not have the material on your computer in the first place! Downloading Films and Music off Torrents without paying is Illegal, but as so many do it, the threat of being caught is nominal. Im afraid i can't answer the last question, as i don't use torrents.

Your ip is being tracked only when the tracker is online. The torrents are a very legal thing. And the best torrent manager is uTorrent.

Bittorrent is legal itself, but can be used for illegal purposes (such as downloading copyrighted materials), a good comparison to make is a knife, it can be used for the innocent slicing of vegetables for cooking, or you can stab and kill someone with it. So you can download legal materials, which are shared via torrents to save bandwidth or illegal materials.

They can track IP's, which they can find out the name and address the internet link is coming from if the authorities contact your internet service provider.

If you're downloading the illegal material, it'll be uploading that same illegal material. It's made so it can't be stopped from sharing what you're downloading and you're downloading from other people who are sharing without a choice too. The only way to stop uploading illegal material is to not download it.

BitTornado is the best bittorrent client in my opinion.

ANY P2P sharing is risky. Torrents used to be pretty clean but there is plenty of malware out there now. If you stick with legal content -- Linux distros, etc. -- you should be pretty safe.

There's no way to stop anyone from seeding illegal content.

Tracking IPs is pretty simple. No, strike that, it's dead easy.

I'm using BitTorrent 5.01. The original is still the best.
