I agree, rarely do I see anything positive anymore. I wish they would write about positive things that are going on in our world because there are things, but if it is written at all it is mixed with retail ads, not in headlines or bold print.

Considering that most newspaper companies use clearcuts and very low percentages of recycled paper to print, yes, most news in the newspapers is bad news. Also, considering the amount of gasoline it takes to deliver all those news papers--more bad news. but let's face it: no one is going to buy a newspaper with the headline "Everything is okay today". Problems make news. There is a saying that "no news is good news" but it is more used when you haven't heard from someone in a while.
I don't often read the news anymore. It either makes me angry or depressed. It's all about governments, wars, poverty, b()!!$h@+ celebrities, advertisements, nonsense like that. It's propaganda to help breed a culture of fear and consumerism so yes, no news is good news.

The public doesn't respond well to good news. IF it bleeds it leads. Look at everything from sports to business. You read the most about negativity. You read about 4.6% unemployment. They never mention that 95.4% of the people are unemployed. You head about gas prices in the US are at $2.30 a gallon. You don't hear that in Europe and everywhere else gas is over twice that price.

Hey if the news bothers you don't watch it. Or you can look at the bright side of what they are saying.

Of course there is good news in the papers. Everyone has a different slant on what is good and what isn't.. Guess it depends on what you are looking for.

Well, people are more interested in bad news.
On the other hand, there are good news too. Economic agreements and reports, scientific progress... etc.
