No, but you are missing the real question.
All we have to do is to realise that we are all one, inter-connected, and part of the same fabric of existence.
Then we don't even have to have a "true" understanding of acceptance.
If we are all a component of the oneness that is all, then even acceptance is unnecessary.
One's hand is different than one's foot. The hand doesn't need to accept the foot and vice versa. Both are important, and serve different functions.
Namaste.

having a true understanding of something and actually going ahead and putting what you understand in practise is two different things so yes, the concept of tolerance would still be created. Acceptance and tolerance are from one brance of the ideas tree so yes, to tolerate you have to first accept. I could accept that someone is ignorant for example but I still might not tolerate it. I could tolerate a persons stupidity but accepting the fact that that they are on the dull side might be beyond me. Almost like a wife who allows her alcoholic husband to beat her, she tolerates his actions but she doesnt accept the implication of the matter. if she did she would not tolerate it.:) So in short yes, even with a true understanding of acceptance the idea of tolerance would have to be created in order to find a perfect balance in order to produce harmony

Tolerance presupposes the ability to 'revolt' , 'retaliate', eliminate etc, and yet , prefers to display a sense of 'tolerance.... This does not really relate to acceptance .... A person may tolerate out of seeing his own helplessness, reserving the option to become non-tolerant at a later time...
Acceptance is just about acceptance the inevitability of what is present in the moment, and does not prevent any action out of tolerance or otherwise. Acceptance affords wisdom, where as tolerance affords just subduing to the situation.

Just because you understand something..and I mean truly understand something doesn't mean you tolerate it. I can understand why someone felt the need to get angry and go do something bad, but I wouldnt tolerate it..many possibilites..

you accept something even if you don't accept it. ( you're still acknowledging it, the first acceptance. You tolerate something even if you don't tolerate it.- ( what if it doesn't go away???)
I think they're the same thing, we're acknowledging, accepting, and tolerating everything everyday.
a synonym of tolerate is "accept."
