Who do I go to, to have this removed? Soap and water won't do the trick either. The joints in my fingers has gotten thicker through the years, and a few extra pounds on me. The ring just barely moves maybe an eighth of an inch and stops. Does the jeweler do this? Hope I don't have to go to the doctor. I'm getting a new band for Christmas this year. The old ring doesn't pinch, I know I need help removing it though.
Thanks for any feedback.
P.S. Couldn't find a category to put this question under.

SOME pounds I've gained. The problem is the knuckle. The ring is a little smaller than that. No weight loss that I've had has helped and I'm not overweight...just tooo skinny back then.lol really!! Off to the jeweler.

Don't force it, it might get stuck on your knuckle and then you WOULD be in trouble.
The ER at the hospital, or your local jewely repair place, should be able to cut it off with a string-saw (they stick it under the ring and cut from the inside out).
Don't worry about the damage ... they would probably have to cut it to resize it, any way, if you are talking about going up more than a size or two.

If you are getting a new band for it, you might as well just have the jeweler cut it off. but using ice to constrict the blood in your finger can shrink it a bit, along with perhaps a diuretic to reduce the amount of water in your body. Try taking the diuretic with a glass of water, wait about an hour or two, then ice the finger, then oil the finger and see if it will slide off. dont get it stuck on the knuckle though or else it will be really hard for them to cut it off if thats what you end up having to do.

I had the same problem a few years back. And it didn't take 25 years for me. Only about 6 years. BUT either way my problem was WEIGHT and weight only. The only way I found to do this without cutting the ring off was to lose the weight. Took me several months but lost the excess 75 pounds and the ring comes off and on with no problem.

Hey

rub some cream around the area of the ring, underneath the ring if possible and all over, then slowly try taking it off.

If this doesnt work then try oil,

and if it still doenst budge then go to the doctors, or jeweler s

bare in mind though, that they are likrly to cut it off

but try the first pointer

Run your finger through water while rubbing plenty of soap on it, twisitng the ring round the slippery finger.

If putting ice on your finger and then soaping it up really well while you try to twirl it off your finger doesn't work, then the only other way is to cut it off....call the jewler and see if they can do this...other wise, call your doctor to see how you can get this done....good luck

You could try rubbing ice on your finger around the ring...it may contract your finger enough to slip it off with some soap afterwards.

I'd go to the jewelry store too. They have little saws that they can use to cut the ring off.

Drop into your local firehouse. They may be able to cut it off.
