Actually, we're about to see a monumental change here in the United States. Republicans put anti-environmentalists in top environmental and energy positions. The League of Conservation Voters (that's CONSERVATION, mind you. Not CONSERVATIVE) gave these Republicans a ZERO rating on environmental issues. Many of their Democratic replacements in the upcoming term (such as Boxer), have a rating of 100. It's going to be night and day when it comes to the environment. Whether Bush will actually sign the new laws remains to be seen....

Most people are not so aware of what is going on in our environment today. Don't you know that our virgin forests are obliterated with the size of a football stadium each year. It means that many years from now our forests will soon be gone. Let's take necessary measures to stop environmental concerns. Stop burning! Perhaps we may lessen the billowing toxic clouds thrown in our atmosphere each day. Plant more trees to rehabilitate our planet. In doing so, we're not only saving our Mother Earth, we're also saving ourselves and the future of this world.

I think politicians think this way: "it's somebody's else problem"; it will become their problem when enough social pression will urge them to act; until then, they don't care because only a few people consider the global warming as a thread.. so the best way to worry the politicians is to inform the maximum people about what's going on;

Well politicians get their livelyhood from being politicians, not from protecting the enviroment. Until their livelyhood comes from protecting the enviroment and not getting elected, they will continue to worry more about getting elected.
Humans are very good at being shortsighted in this respect (animals it has to be said are even better at it) especially when being shortsighted is in their direct economic interests.

I agree. I live in a state where we have just been implemented with harsh water restrictions because of a severe drought in Australia. Problem is government always when it a little too late.Can you tell me why that is?

They'll start to worry when the environmental concerns can afford to fund their election campaigns and can line their pockets during their terms.

Real question worth answering:
When are the tree hugging leftist extremists going to start being concerned with the security of the USA instead of myths like global warming?
