We're making a presentation in biology about sore muscles and I'd like to know exactly what sore muscles are. Could somebody help me please?

Sore muscles are those which exhibit pain upon flexion or extension. They are typically the result of myofibril breakdown as a result of strenuous exercise.

Sore muscles caused by strenuous exercise are the result of lactic acid build-up in the muscles. When you exercise you create small tears in the muscle as a result the body produces lactic acid which is natures way of saying "slow down".
