It could have been a stunt, it got everybody talking about him. He might come out ahead of the game. In 2001 Paula Poundstone was accused of molesting a child in her care which was not true but she pled guilty to driving drunk with kids in her car. I thought her career was over but she's doing stand up now. Maybe these celebs are bulletproof or the public has a short memory.

I just tried to find out what the guy actually said. It seems to be some kind of big secret.... although 6 minutes is long enough to look for me. Perhaps prior to 5 years ago people would speak in this way and no-one would make a big deal, after all comedians are always offending people tossing up who'll find it funny. Lucky the guys were'nt bald, or midgets....oops sorry vertically challenged small humans....but nowadays, people are encouraged to pillory whoever the press names. I mean....You run a country pretty ok, get a ********....and next minute you are not fit to control a car! It is fine for a Jew to say "you cant marry a gentile, or your out baby" I mean who needs this shallow crap? So mel gets drunk, passes off some lame comment and he's a drunken bum who's career is finished if he doesn't get belly rash....plus a fine! Ok....get it out of your system....Im a fat drunk whos a prejudiced, bigoted, stupid type that ruins the world, hurts people, bashes women, and has terrible hygene.....feel better....ok....glad to know someones got a grip.

Negative publicity is better than no publicity, so I guess he figured that it was worth a try!
It killed me was when he said that he'd NEVER used words like that before! Yeah, right! This was the FIRST time he'd ever used the N word or any of the other filth he spouted that evening. And he can't blame it on the alcohol, like some other people.

It is starting to come out that Kramer was heckled for over ten minutes. One of the things that was said to him was, "you aint funny **** a" then when kramer replied with a witty retort the heckler replied with "You don't know me **** a, Don't fuc k with this **** a".
It also is being reported that the black guys who were calling kramer **** a and threatening him were also threatening the people who opened up the show for Richards..
Real innocent victims...? Seems like two punks who should've been bounced out before Richards ever hit the stage..

It's all so pathetic. Who gives a rats @$$ if he called a n*ggar a n*ggar!?! I get called a fat ***** now and again too, you don't see me boo-hoo-ing over it. All people are entitled to say whatever they wish rather it's right or wrong. And believe it or not, there are worse things that a person could be besides a "racist" like a mass murderer or a child molester. People need to get over it!!!

Even though there is no such thing as bad publicity, this is actually bad publicity, and what is worse is the news that this is not the first time it has happened. Although, the last time he went off on a racial tirade it was reportedly anti-Semitic.
Hecklers are a part of comedy, if a stand up cannot deal with them then they shouldn't be doing stand up.

I believe he exposed himself for who he is...Low down, dirty, mean. Maybe he's got professional issues, career failing an' all, but no need for those racial comments! He was on the "where are they now?" list the day after Seinfeld aired it's final program! Maybe he just realize it too and decided to commit social suicide, no faster way than...well, you know! Too bad he didn't spend more time makin' funny jokes, rather than makin' enemies!! You make the audience laugh, not want to kill you! Just as 2 dimensional an' ignorant as his character!
