No way. There are hundreds of pyramids which were long before the pyramids of Giza, and you can trace their development from those.

Originally, the Egyptians buried their dead in a long trench topped with what looked a rectangular bench (the Arabs later called them "mastabas"). Then a pharoah's engineer named Amenhotep came up with stacking them up on top of each other. He used stone blocks stacked on top of each other to created the Step Pyramid. This was the first large stone building. After that, the same pharoah had a second pyramid built which was supposed to have smooth sides. Unfortunately, it was sitting on unstable ground, and the weight of the pyramid caused cracked to appear in the foundation by the time it was only half built. The builders compromised by changing the angle, resulting in what is now known as the Bent Pyramid. They finally got it right by using a shallower angle in the Red Pyramid. The Red Pyramid is actually not much smaller than the pyramids of Giza, and is the first true, smooth-sided pyramid. The fact that there are stages of pyramids which show trial and error should convince people that it was people, not aliens, who built them, but that is unfortunately not the case.

There are a lot of questions as to how the pyramids were built, though. They did have basic engineering tools, like levels, but they didn't have beasts of burden or the wheel. Instead, it is believed that they may have used some type of sledge to move the stones up the pyramid, possibly using some type of ramp system. The fact that we don't know everything about it, that they were such a great engineering feat, and some of the mysteries which surround ancient Egyptian culture anyway, may be the reason some people insist that they must have been built by aliens.

I believed that the Great Pyramids were built as tombs for the King's of Egypt to pass into the after life. But when I realized that there were no bodies of the King's in the pyramids then I wondered if there was another purpose for the pyramids. After watching an episode of Ancient Aliens, I have come to believe that the Great Pyramid is the oldest power plant on the Earth. To make a long story short, there are passages inside the pyramid that connect to a room in the pyramid. It is possible that two chemicals are sent through these passages to create hydrogen, the most abundant source of power in the universe, also one of the first atoms created. This power plant could be potentially power satellites in space and be conducted through the Nile River to create an electrical flow throughout the area. Know think about that.

NO!! Absolutely not!!

There is continuing archaeological work on the Giza plateau, where Dr. Mark Lehner and Dr. Zawi Hawass are excavating the towns, food processing areas, and cemeteries of the Egyptians who built the Great Pyramids over a period of about 100 years.

There is evidence at Giza of:

1. Superior medical care (including bones expertly set and surgery including amputations),
2. Above average food rations (including meat and fish, which were usually eaten by the wealthy), and huge silos for food storage,
3. Large buildings used for dormitories and eating halls.
4. Mini-pyramids built as tombs for some of the workers.

There is graffiti on an interior chamber above the King's Chamber that reads in Egyptian Hieroglyphs: "Gang of Khufu." I think that says who really built the Great Pyramid at Giza: the Egyptians.

Because the pyramids are such huge imposing structures, they seem to inspire much creative speculation as to their origin and meaning. One reason pyramids occur in such diverse places as China, Mexico, Egypt and southeast Asia, has more to do with the engineering dynamics of building with stone and earth. For a large structure to remain stable, sloping sides seem to work best.

There is currently no recognized archaeological evidence of aliens landing in ancient Egypt or building any ancient Egyptian monument. The ancient Egyptians alone are responsible for the great achievements of their land.

Yawn..............if you like..........and if you want to undermine the abilities and technologies of your own race (unless you are an alien, of course). By the way, Elvis is still alive, a number 9 bus was discovered embedded in an iceberg, and the Americans never landed on the moon.

Can I draw everybody's attention to Ockham's Razor here please? In short, when given two equally valid explanations for a phenomenon, one should embrace the less complicated formulation.

If one accepts that pyramids built by aliens is a valid explanation against them being built by humans, then the latter is a far less complex solution.

So, quite apart from the rationality behind it, Ockham's Razor says we should accept the human explanation.

Why should Mexicans get credit for the pyramids? Actually, they were made by giant ants from Bolivia who walked across the ocean to summer in Egypt.

This is the kind of myth put about by people who seem unable to comprehend that man 5000 years or more ago was able to build such monuments as the pyramids. it all seems to have started with Erich von Daniken's series 'The Chariots of the Gods'. I have heard suggestions from otherwise sensible people that aliens had to have intervened with helicopters to build Stonehenge. To subscribe to these fallacies does, IMHO, demean the ability of our ancestors and create a view that they were little more than children

No it was not built by aliens. It was built by the egyptians. Its architect was Imhotep, who used the the constellation of the stars to position them....see the pyramids of GIZA, aligned in then position of Orion's Belt.

I don't really believe there is any alien around. I think it is all make up although it is as good as real, by some governments top secret.
