Are you sure she's actually constipated? Some people think that if a baby or child poops only every other day or every few days, they're constipated. This isn't necessarily true. True constipation is when the poop comes out in hard, round little pellets (sometimes stuck together, sometimes loose). If the baby is pooping normal, mushy baby poop, but it's not several times per day--only once every day or two, this is normal. It's also completely normal for the baby to grunt and strain for the first month or two of life. If the baby is actually pooping out these little hard round "turds" (sorry--couldn't think of a better word!), THIS is constipation.

remember when in pregnancy u were constipated? (im assuming cause most of us do) anyway, its from the iron in the prenatal vitamins so the formula that also has iron is going to do that to your baby too. you can put a couple teaspoons of cayro syrup in babys bottle and that will unclog him or her. thats what my dr told me to do with all mine. just dont make a habit out of doing it because then baby wont take the bottle unless its sweet

Probably from the iron in the formula.

It's probably from the formula. Check with your Pediatrician.

bubs could be constipated possibly because of the formula its on....breastfed babies are rarely constipated....i would suggest that you give bubs some cool boiled water just before a bottle feed......

well i had the same problem and the doctors told me that it was because i was going from formula to breast so he said i needed to give her tap water mixed with her formula or just give her breast milk only don't do both.

sometimes it takes a while for the baby to adjust to the milk, just give it a little time.
