Each individual will have their opinion , but for me its pretty simple money will buy us temporary happiness..
Do you prefer the stress-free lifestyle of the old days, where you worked and reaped what you sowed, literally. surrounded by those you love?
Or do you wish the life of today, with all its problems, mentally that will kill us faster, or if you make a lot of Money, surrounded by bodyguards and the monotonous facade that is your life.

Thanks for a good question.
And thanks to Anthea for a great answer in such simple words. Can't say anything more effectively.
However, let me put it up to you in a logical way.
Nothing is impossible ...... so money may find a way to buy or bring about happiness. Then what happens next? More money to get more happiness? Then even more? Even without this power, money itself is becoming an end for us even though it is only a means. If it can start getting us happiness, our money mongering will jump million fold. That would completely nullify all the happiness that we can buy with money. This is what is being discovered by every poor person who suddenly becomes rich..... as long as he is poor, he firmly believes all he wants is money and the rest will follow.... once he gets money, he either wants more money or finds all the money still unable to give him all that he wants.
Happiness that can be bought is no real happiness.

It depends on your definition of happiness..or understanding thereof and what type of character your are. If your world is defined by materialistic possessions and you discern life as a pursuit to worldly enjoyment then money will be an integral source of your happiness. There are those who believe that the resulting feeling of happiness for the above personality is short-lived.On the other hand if your understanding of happiness is spiritually oriented then having money may not be pivotal to your happiness.e.g a budhist. Humanity is diverse just as we have sprinters and marathoners so do we have people who are predisposed to certain inclinations.

Temporay happiness, yes... no need to become a scientist for that !
But if happiness is meant to be the real inner joy, well, the tools of happiness is beyond the perception level of a scientist, UNLESS such a scientist also happens to be a person evolved beyond just the sensory perception level !

Money makes it easier to be happy because you don't have to worry about it.
Also, if you have money you will never be limited in the things you can do.
You will also have the power to get the best health care.
The best safest shelter,
The best education. Really with money all the doors are open to you and if you cannot find happiness when you have it, you never will be able to.
If you can find happiness when you do not have money then you will always be able to find it no matter what.

People with a lower income may have a different cultural outlook, they may consider themselves less happy because they see others around them who seem to have much more then they do and instead of focusing on the good things they have they focus on what they don't have. Also people with a more positive outlook on life are more likely to take risks because they think everything will be okay, these risks earn them money.
Happyness is a complex emotion that is impossible to measure with modern means.

Money can do a lot of things for you except buy you happiness. Money can draw people to you, money can buy you material things, and money can get you where you want to be. If a person wants these things, then money can bring you happiness. If this person notices and finally figures out that these people only want him for what he has, then he'll truly start to search for what he needs - happiness.

a lot of things that make you happy don't come cheap. For example if you wanted to buy a little house with few acre's to live simply under god's sky how do you get it?????? if you need money to help your dying daughter, if you simply want a hobby!!!!!!!!!

money can never bring true happiness. It can give some temporary joy now and again but in a permanent basis money is nothing but an unavoidable evil on mankind

if your wealth does not have any limit maybe... it depends on what happiness is for the person. I bet that everyone has an experience in their life felt happy for something they bought! money can buy you happiness but that happiness might not last forever!
