If you are going to put the petals in a scrapbook with photos I would press the petals in a flower press, available at Jo-Ann Fabric stores, and then I would laminate them with a xyron machine or with book contact to stop them from contaminating any thing else in the scrapbook.

You can buy flower-presses in hobby/art shops. Alternatively you can put the petals between two sheets of blotting paper and place this at the end of a heavy book for several months.

I am assuming you already know about flower presses and you would like to know how to preserve the colour and keep the flower in-tact whilst it is in the scrap book, well there is a spray you can buy from art shops, i dont know the name of it, but it drys like a transparent film that should protect your flowers. Unfortunately the colours will go brown over time, there is nothing you can do about that. Try lakeland for microwave flower press!

it doesn't have to be a press. You just need to find either a heavy book or stick it in a book and put heavy things over it. Make sure that the paper you are putting it between is blank because when the flowers dry the moisture seeps into the paper. Just keep it there for maybe 10 minutes or so and it's done!

you need to get a press. This is when you put the petals between sheets of paper and card and squish them down with a weight for a few days.

After pressing for a short while, as described in previous answers, you can circumvent the long time required to dry them naturally by drying in a microwave oven.
