glass mosaic! i ♥ doing these in my spare time...
1. get some colored pieces of glass (you can use old glass from something you were planning on throwing out or buy some at a craft store)
2. get something that is made of raw wood: picture frames, giant letters of your name, jewelry boxes, table tops, wooden crosses...anything you want (also available at craft stores and usually really inexpensive)
3. place the pieces of glass (colors seperate from each other!) in between sheets of newspaper (this is to prevent shattering in your eyes) and break it with a hammer...youll want to make varying sizes from large to small.
4. pick out colors you like together and using simple white elmers glue, glue the pieces of glass onto the wood. you can make scenes like the beach or just place a color pattern on there, but make sure you leave a small amount of spacing in between pieces for the grouting.
5. get some grout (you can get it at the hobby store or at the local hardware store, where its probably cheaper) and fill in the spaces around the glass with grout.
6. let dry for a day and just take a wet rag and rub over it to clean off the glass.
i love doing these and when you really start to get into it people will get interested in even buying these types of things from you. you can grow your glass collection with different colors, you can also color your grout with plain acrilic paints to add a different effect to it. also try adding in beads and other items to give it texture. have fun with it!
if you would like any picture of examples ive done let me know and ill be more than happy to send them =)

Beading is my newest hobby - I love making necklaces, bracelets, and earrings! There is also woodworking (of all levels), scrapbooking, knitting or crocheting, floral arranging, etc. Just walk through your local Hobby Lobby, Michaels, or other craft store and you'll get tons of ideas.

If you insist on using the internet as your primary source for research, please learn how to use a search engine. Yahoo, Ask, Google -- these are all good. Better yet though is a library -- ask the librarian for help in finding appropriate resources.
