If he wants to be cut he can have it done on his own. He owns the penis it is his decision. It has been his penis all his life, parents should respect their sons bodies just like they do their daughters.

popibz you twit, if uncircumcised penises are "very difficult to clean" then girls are impossible to clean. The rest of your re-posted answer is all the same kind of half baked crap. The best circumcising could do for STDs or HIV AIDs is to only reduce the chance of contact, if even that. You still need condoms and safe sex to stop disease, so why cut?

Do you realize you are exposing boys needlessly to antibiotic resistant staph infections (MRSA). http://www.doctorsopposingcircumcision.org/DOC/mrsa.html

A boy is more likely to die from circumcision complications than to contract cancer of the penis.

Just take the whole baby home and teach him to use soap and water.

You had better get it done real soon, while the 19 to 21 year old group is the best time to circumcise, once they get to be 23 or so they start to think that they are entitled to having their penis the way they want it, silly notion. They should know it is their mothers wishes that matter. Boys must be taught who is the boss, and what better way than cutting on their bits.

Of course it is safer if no anesthesia is used, but now they can give him a lollipop so he won't feel the pain, and so what if he does; its just his bits. If he complains just call him a baby and tell him that even newborns take it that way.

About cost and where to have it done. If you contact the poster before me, I think she goes by pop... something or something like that, I am sure she will be happy to chew his foreskin off with her fangs, for free, although she seems to prefer the blood from infant boy's penises. A word of warning, he better have his rabies shots up to date.

matt, sonny boy you are still a child. After 50 years of dealing with my mutilated tool I know a hell of alot more about it than you do, you can still count your "experience" in months! Your glans hasn't even dried yet. But I am glad you had the choice to have yourself cut. You said it wasn't bad at all at the age of 23, right? SO WHY THE HELL DO THAY HAVE THIS BIG RUSH TO CIRCUMCISE BABY BOYS? Let them make their own decision when they are of age like you did.

Usually circumcisions are done at birth or for some faiths at 13 y/o. If your son is 21 y/o he can make his own decisions to get circumcised. A urologist could do it for you.

CIRCUMCISION IS VERY BENEFICIAL, its cleaner and several research bodies have concluded that circumcised men have less risk of contracting STD's such as AIDS-HIV or herpes.

Uncircumcised penises are difficult to keep clean, and more prone to infections and penile cancer, studies have shown.
A circumcised penis is naturally clean and virtually free from urinary infection. You will not have to worry again with careful washing of your penis.

Is it NOT true that the AAP (American Academy of Paediatrics) does not recommend circumcision. They simply say they leave the decision to parents. But recently, and specially after the New Zealand study, the AAP has been discussing if it may be necessary to change their policy and recommend circumcision for all newborns as they used to do, so in the future we may see that the AAP advocates again circumcision.

About STD's:

As I said, several studies carried out by prestigious research bodies have concluded that uncircumcised penises are more prone to infections and contraction of STD's, including AIDS-HIV. Circumcised men have been proved to be up to seven times less likely to be infected than those who are uncircumcised. Have a look at this site: http://icuxbridge.icnetwork.co.uk/news/tm_objectid=14095142&method=full&siteid=53340&headline=-circumcision-protects-against-aids--name_page.html

As for women, studies also show that circumcision also protects female partners from AIDS-HIV and other STD's. Browse this article: http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/Press_releases/2006/02_08_06.html

About sensitivity of a circumcised penis:

No medical or physiological study has proved that circumcision reduces sensitivity, opposed common belief. The American Academy of Paediatrics (AAP) confirms this on their web site; have a look at: http://www.aap.org/pubed/zzzjzmemh4c.htm

Circumcision is an easy and nowadays painless procedure, which has many benefits, and virtually no risks.
Circumcision is NOT an amputation. Circumcision is NOT comparable at all to female circumcision, which is something completely different.

Circumcision rates are INCREASING nowadays, both in the United States and overseas. Many African and South American countries with little circumcision tradition are starting to promote the procedure to help to reduce the AIDS-HIV infection rates.

Let me congratulate you for your excellent desicion of recomending circumcision for your son. I am sure he will be very happy after the procedure and glad to be circumcised!

i would have it done in an ambulatory suite in a hospital under local anesthesia ONLY. IN and out same-day procedure. This costs far less.

I had mine done in the private surgical suite of a plasticsurgeon who had his OWN O.R. suite facility for certain surgeries. His was hospital grade Level II . cost was under $1000 for me.

I highly recommend go to a urologist who does in-office surgeries and you'll save much money and headache and avoid the hospitals.; Local anesthesia only is fine.

I wish I could watch when they do your son - it brings back memories of my own surgery. he will love the results.

Best wishes to your son and congratulations.

I would say that you should let your son decide. At 21 his penis is non of your business. Oh and I`m not sure why you`d want to do a thing like that.

What is wrong with you?
Why are you concerned with your adult childs penis?
If he is choosing to get it done, why are you even involved with this?
Are you sick?
Why did you not have it done in infancy?
Are you serious?

An adult circumcision is a nasty, bloody, painful mess of an operation.

You need to get involved with something more constructive and take your mind off your sons crotch!

Get a life!
