It's not a malfunction. It's a normal function. The brain can only hold so much stuff in temporary memory. Write stuff down if you really want to remember.

The brain can hold around 7-12 items (depending on the person) in temporary memory.

So, if you have too many things that you are thinking about, you bump one off the list.

Dementia but more likely a short attention span. What I would like to know is how you remembered how you spell the words you have written in the question you did ask?
