BE - Engineering
B Tech - Technology
There is a difference between these two courses.
Simply put:
A B.E. course will lay greater emphasis on engineering theory.
On the other hand, A B.Tech course will lean towards more of practical teaching.
This is the major difference between a BE course and a BTech course. To compare you may ask people who have taken the same discipline in different streams. Say, you can ask one person who has done BE (ECE) and one who has done B Tech (Electronics and Commn) abt their respective courses. That should give u a clear picture.
And B Tech degrees are offered by many colleges, not just the IITs.

Nothing like history and economics difference!
Other than long form difference, the difference is of PRACTICAL experience and Syllabus.
The syllabus of B.Tech is supposed to be more advanced. Also there are more of industrial trainings in B.Tech degree. As a holder of B.Tech in computers, I myself started having industrial trainings right from my first year. And yes, I was evaluated for the training.
