Now it depends on how you mean recover...and also how you have Initially set up your computer to begin with.
If you created a Partition on your Hard Drive when you first built your computer and your partition to store dat is uncomprimised, after your recovery and your re-install of ITunes, you should keep your media library, well you should have every single file still on your computer. You may need to point ITunes at the files again for it to find them.
On the other hand, If you havent created a partition, then your out of luck if it is a Complete windows re-install, with the repair feature, you may still keep your files.
I am not familiar with ITunes myself, so I do not know if a history is kept on already purchased songs and that, if that is the case I presume you may re-download them from the store free of charge??
Hope this Answers your question

You mean if your computer crashed and you decide to format your hard-disk and reinstall your os and all your software including ITunes, definetely not. But next time don't format or reinstall first. You might want to try and recover your data by connecting to another working hard-disk and set the crashed hard-disk as a slave drive. You can also try using data recovery software like Final Data Enterprise to try get back your downloaded music files. If you find that what I said is confusing, just take your faulty hard-disk to your local pc repair and ask the IT dude if he can try to do a data recovery for your hard-disk. You have to pay of course and the results is well.....maybe 70% of data you will be able to recover.

Unfortunately, no. The best way around this is to get a second hard drive (or an external one) and copy all your music there, then transfer it back after you've done the recovery.

I would suggest you back the music up first. Failing to do that, there are programs you can purchase that would allow you to reload the music back onto your library from your ipod. I did that recently for my wife when I had to do a system restore.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
