Wikipedia says the band has been on hiatus since 2003 but has not officially broken up. Dolores O'Riordan sang the title track to the movie The Passion of the Christ and she's coming out with a solo album next year.

The Irish rock band were quite famous between 1990 and 1999. They started in 1989 and just made it big time for a "Support the Beatles Concert" in late 1989. They had big hits such as "Delilah", "New New York" and their incredibly famous reproduction of "Ave Maria". They are still a band ocassionally meeting every few months or so to produce another song.
