There is not much difference between poem and poetry. The Genere is the same, However in poetry the writer is presumed to be anonimous while the poem has a valid writer with date of birth and other details. Poetry is in the long form edited to the ear and becomes poetry. An experienced poet can write a poem by keeping his name and the muses of the poem a secret.

Chit Chor Oh, you killed me on the follow up question. I can only answer poem and poetry. Poem and Poetry could be compared to like One basketball game versus the whole league of Basketball. Poetry has a broader spectrum and encompasses more of the facets of Poetry, while a Poem is just one piece to read.
