our school is having a contest for tha modern christmas dance and i'm the musical director. but i don't have anything in my list.. i need help!!!!!!

I guess Mariah Carey's 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' could be considered a modern Christmas song. It's actually not that bad of a song.

Band-Aid's "Do They Know It's Christmas" is a god one...depends on what you mean by "Modern". There are a lot of good modern ones on the "Very Special Christmas" series. Also a great many artists have written or found/had written for them relatively new songs for their Christmas CDs (Heart, Jethro Tull, etc.). One of my favourites is Baby, It's Cold Outside, recently redone by Tom Jones and the woman from the punk band Catatonia. Finally, I wrote one which was televised & nominated for a regional emmy only a few years ago called "Winter Blast" which I'll be happy to send to you (no need for royalties or anything) for use if you want it--it's about Santa's/Elves/Reindeer Christmas party whic happens on Dec. 23 (they're busy Dec. 24-25 :-) ).
