It just means that you can connect to a network or Internet without the need of cables.
It uses radio signals to send and recieve data.

A wireless laptop computer is basically a laptop computer (a portable computer) with wireless capabilities, meaning the computer doesn't need to be plugged into a wall or an outlet or anything. The wireless capabilities enable it to function normally as long as it is located (physically) within a wireless network, such as an internet cafe for example. Okay look at it another way, it's like a cell phone. Cell phones work properly without being plugged into a wall jack as long as they are within the satellite's service area. This is the same with wireless laptop computers. They operate without being plugged into a wall outlet or wall jack as long as they are within a wireless network's service area.
