Does anyone know what would be the best way to find pregnant teens in need of a place to live? Im in Oregon and I take in one pregnant teen at a time and provide her and her baby with free long term room (her own room/nursery), board, guidance, medical insurance, transportation, and everything else. I also involve her in teen parenting groups, provide free child care while she goes to school, and counseling if needed. She gets one on one help.
I believe this is better for some, rather than a group home. My last mom just got her first apartment and Im have trouble filling her spot. Also I do this all out of my own pocket, I was a teen mom and I enjoy helping other teen moms.

If they are old enough, they have the choice to finnish school then get a job, or their GED and then work, I teach them independent living skills as well. I myself had a child right before I turned 16, and got a job when she was 2 months old and my own apartment when she was 8 months, it took me a lot longer to finnish school that way. I give these girls a better chance at finishing high school.

I'm in Vancouver WA, and we have several organizations that help teen mothers. I am sure there are organizations in Oregon that do the same thing. I would try contacting them and see if they can help you. I also was a teen mom and give time to help teen moms. Good for you for giving back and making a positive out of your situation. As hard as it was, it was so worth it.

Good luck

First off what your doing is such a great thing. If I had the time and money I would love to do something like that. And for doing that, you are a wonderful person. As for filling the spot, you might want to try going to your local planned parenthood/family planning clinic and talk to them. Maybe you can post something at the clinic. Thats the only thing I can really thinkg of. Good luck!

I'd say put up a flyer at the teen parenting groups or at local shops and at support places and womens refuges
this is so awesome that you are so caring and generous!

Yes try putting up flyers but you should make them work as they'll need job skills once they are ready to get an apartment.

Doing everything for free is not helping these girls.
