I'm going for an surgery soon, and i would like to go for a dive trip 3mth after my surgery. I'm afraid i'm not fit to dive by then.. but my doctor advise me not to do too straintaneous excercise after the surgery, but never tell me how long i need to wait. and is an open seasons in malaysia waters..

it depends on how well you heal. no one can answer your question at this stage. just ask for your doctor's advice when you feel you're ready.
