It's always a tradition for my dad, mama, sisters and I to decorate the family tree on Thanksgiving weekend. My mom's what my family calls a "tree nazi". She's always critizizes and rearranges our ornaments and nags at us.

"You call that a trimming?"
"That trout is so dang ugly!"
"How dare you hang the Holy Family behind the Kermit! You oughta be ashamed of yourselves!"
"Leave those ornaments alone I'll take care of those ones!"
"You can't hang too many hearts on one side of the tree it's too cluttery!"
"I thought I told you to put those ugly ones in the back!"
"Make sure they dangle. DANGLE!"

I have one of these moms, too. We just put things where we want them and she can change them later. Her thing is always "The tinsel isn't right. One piece at a time."
We just laugh at her and do what we want.

My Dad doesn't do a lot of decorating. He really doesn't get into putting up decorations. Usually my Mom, my siblings, and I put most of the decorations on the tree. We have a fake seven footer so it's big enough that we don't really have to worry about cluttering ornaments. I think having them all arranged differently is part of the holiday for us. Overall, no nobody is a 'tree nazi'.

I am ashamed to admit that I used to be the tree nazi in my house. Maybe not quite to that extent, but it was pretty bad. Year before last, nobody helped me decorate the tree. After I did it perfectly, they attacked. Every single day someone would come along and bunch all the white balls (which I hated anyway, but my husband bought them) into one little cluster. I would patiently rearrange them. After about a week and a half of this, I got the point. Last year was much better in my house.

Yeah I suffer from that then I decided I am not going to do that anymore so I really don't participate decorating anymore it gets bad.

Sorry about that. Maybe your mom invision something and when it doesn't happen she gets uptight. She just wants the tree like how she wants it. She might figure since she is the head female in the house it'll look like the way she wants it.

All I can say sorry again. I can understand how you feel. I put myself into your shoes (so to speak) and it sucks.

Kinda. We have fake crystal icicles and snowflakes that are supposed to go on the tree before anything else- Mom got a bit annoyed one year when she found out we'd made a game of just throwing them at the tree and letting them hang where they landed. (They're made of tough stuff.) Seems they're supposed to be in front of a light...

Sounds like a big pain in the @zz. If she does that , you should all step back at once and sit on the couch and just let her do it by herself. When she asks why, then you can tell her all of that lol. Maybe she will get the hint.

Tree Nazi is a bit severe our mothers have similarites. I could never do anything as well as her and she gave me an inferiority complex that took years to get over
