I hear nothing about her and if I inquire, I am told "its none of your business." WTF?

she spins the information to make me look bad. She is trying hard to prevent me from having a relationship with my 2 kids. So i do care why this small town is quick in giving her ammo(innocent or not) and leaving me with "none of your business" WTF?

Well, if she knows about comments then the source would be the person you made the comment to.

Make a particular comment to a particular person and see if it comes back. Make note of conversations you have with someone whom she might tap for information. Know what you said to whom for future reference.

Next time someone tells you she referred to your private life say, "She spends way too much time obsessing over what I do." and let it drop. Repeat this every time someone comes to you regarding what she has to say about your private life.

Obviously she has someone close to you like maybe a family member or common friend who is "snitching" you out. The thing is what do you care? You're not with her anymore so who cares what she knows. Why waste your time getting into an argument with her about things she is finding out on you, do you really care ? Ignore her unless you are enjoying the confrontations. If it is creating real problems for you such as affecting your job or something of that sort, call an attorney to find out if this is considered harassment and if you have any legal recourse.

She is more of a detective than you. She continues to ask mutual friends about you. She could even have access to your accounts (phone, bank, etc.) without you knowing about it. It could be that she is not over you and so she asks about you to a lot more people than vice versa. The bigger and more important question is: do you care what she is doing now?

as long as you are behaving, you should care less what she finds out about your social life. just move on.
