Graphics cards come in 3 options. AGP, PCI-e, and the old PCI. You need to find out which one of these slots is on your motherboard. Then, hit up a website like newegg.com and find the card your looking for with the appropriate connector. Its actually very easy. Most new PCs have PCI-e (PCI Express) slots, so if you have a new machine, this is what you will probably be needing.

Depending on your current pc you may not be able to up-grade the card. I had a HP a while ago and the graphics was built in with no ability to up-grade. Give a few more pc details for a better answer.

It's a really easy up-grade but if your system is old it may not be worth while money wise.
