Would Kennedy have survived if the driver sped off immediately upon hearing the first shot?

I agree with "tumblewee" He probably didn't realize or know what was happening. I don't think there was a conspiracy...maybe a few leaks. But we should accept the fact, Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone assasin. His own brother knows that and said that on TV, years ago.
I lived through that time...we were all in such a state of shock and confusion that it's no surprise that some of the facts of that day, have been so distorted.

There's this really good book (I can't remember who wrote it, though) by a ballistics expert who examines all of the evidence, including the infamous Zapruder film. His conclusion is that while Oswald did fire three shots, only directly hit JFK, passing through his arm and into the Governor (although the fragments of at least one other bullet hit the President as well). The fatal shot was an accidental discharge by the Secret Service agent in the car behind the President that happened to hit JFK directly in the back of the head. The author (again, apologies for not knowing his name) contacted the agent, stating that he would be named in the book. The agent refused to respond in either the negative or the postive. Draw your own conclusions.

It wouldn't have made any difference in whether Kennedy would have survived. The first shot would have proved fatal on its own and he was probably already dead or close to it at the time of the head shot.

As for the driver's reaction, it's entirely possible he didn't hear the shot and didn't react until he was aware of some commotion in the back of the car. At that time, he would have had to turn to assess the situation and then bring his attention back to his driving. Remember also that the Presidential limo was not the lead car. He had traffic in front of him. Considering a time frame of under 8 seconds, he did pretty well.

Well, maybe he was too surprised to act.

If I was in his situation, I might've just blanked out.

I remember one time when I saw 2 cars collide in front of me, I didn't even scream or breathe. The shock of the events made my mind completely numb. If someone had asked me 5 minutes ago, what I would do if cars crashed in front of me, I would tell them that I'll scream and run.

Now I can't scream at TV actors who won't try to jump and evade that fatal gunshot. Blame it on not being too level headed.

Yeah, there would be a big chance that he'd survived..

The driver must have been confused. As to your other question, well, according to those who believe that JFK's assassination was a conspiracy, then he would have been killed anyway. According to the ones who don't believe so, he might have survived.

Is that what you would have done? If I was driving the car and my passenger was shot (and I knew he was shot) I would probably pull over to the curb and stop first.

When you are part of the whole set up you do not try and ruin it, come on now, you people in the USA must know it was all set up by your own government.
