Because they are this year's must-have Christmas present Amazon are selling some Dr Who toys at almost twice the recommended price.

Amazon makes a killing and is the first on-line shop that most people go to. What else are they ripping us off with?

Looks like I might have been a bit hasty!

It appears that Amazon are selling the toy in question for another company - Action Figures Imports.

So - sorry to Amazon, but maybe they should be a bit more careful about the thieving bastards that they let on their site.

(Thanks to Ebenezer for pointing this out)

No. Amazon sells products at their recommended retail price (rrp) or less. However, if the product is out of stock, you are sent to a third party supplier (a section of the site called Amazon Marketplace), who can charge what they like. Amazon has no control over this price.

I love Dr. Who from the very first Dr. when it was in black and white and shown in the US on PBS.
I boycott Amazon a lot because I find other places that sell for less. So I agree with you.

I think its generally advisable to shop around, especially on-line. in their defence, i have had some brilliant bargains from Amazon, getting second hand books for as little at 10p.

It always pays even to shop around the net before you buy anything.
I have always found Amazon more expensive than most online retailers.

Anyone who doesn't take the time to shop around online, like they would offline, deserves to have their money taken from them.
