Typically, dreams are our unconsious thoughts. In this case, I would say the guy who was her first love in the dream actually represented you. It sounds like you two are working at your marriage and she may be excited about fresh starts and new beginnings. If I were you, I'd take your wife and your son to a park and have her associate her dream with you.

Well, it seems like she is losing security in you. Perhaps going back to her ex will find herself happiness. This is only a release of discontent she is having now. It does not mean her first love can give her any assurance about things she needs.
The dream basically is a release of some helpless conscience and insecure conscience she may have

You have a healthy relationship with your wife because she tells you everything even her dreams.. She does not hide anything from you. Why be jealous if it is only a dream.. If she is just pulling your leg. tell her also about a dream you can make up about your former GF. See her reaction and have a good laugh together. Give her a taste of her own medicine.Good Luck !

It means that she probably yearns to be back to that time when life wasn't so full of hurdles, stress, and change. I doubt very much your wife wants her first love back. Just the simple things that can be associated during that time. You handing her the phone means your willing to try to help her. You are in marriage counseling. That says a lot

I do believe that dreams have meaning, but they are normally completely different to what the dream was about, for example...my Husband 2 Be keeps on having this dream were I am cheating on him but when I looked it up I found that such a dream means that he is going to do well in his future, quite the contrary.

Sure, it means that she is wishing for a simpler time, absolutely normal. Arent you?
Transition is difficult for the most well grounded, a marriage in flux.......tough to make hard and fast pronouncements. She is reacting to change as you are.
Dreams are more symbolic than real.
She longs for a simpler time, and an easier relationship.
No more, no less.

Sounds like she is missing the thrill of a new relationship. Ask her out on a date like you did before you were married. Call her to just tell her you think she is beautiful. Go to the park or in the yard and chase her around and play like kids.

When she was with her first love, there was no major bills, marriage problems to worry about and no babies to care for,... so she is taking the best of her life and putting in together. And you WERE in the dream so thats the best part.
