Your paper should detail all references whatever the source may be.

In one of my previous papers I referenced a source as "bloke in a paper shop" when I was trying to get immediate reaction to a particular artwork.

sure. but just remember that internet sources are not as respected as books/journals.

too many internet sources and too few books is usually considered bad for academic writing.

there is no magic ratio. 10 sources, 2 of which are internet, sounds okay. 10 sources, 7 are internet, doesn't sound like the normal scholarship that academic institutions want.

bottomline is everything depends on your topic and whether printed sources are available for it. print is favored over e.

why not it's still a book/refrence just that it's online and not physical
