I have seen news items, particularly in the UK, of what appears to be some form of systematic alienation by non-Islamic governments of Islamic citizens of their countries... And sewing mistrust in non-Islamic people...

What can we do to repair the mistrust and make the world a more harmonious place???

wunderkind, it is people like you that keep people segregated... You should be ashamed... The majority of Islamic people are law abiding people just wanting to live, be successful, raise their families, and be safe... It is the disillusioned youth who see people hating them that are easily swayed by the extremists... SHAME ON YOU!!!

For your information dear sir, the Islamic religion should be eradicated from the face of the earth because it is essentially evil. There are 26 chapters in the Quran that deal with Jihad, death and destruction of non-Muslims. Some of the data is hideous and cannot be found in the Christian or Jewish books of religion. Add to this all other modern religions as well. Mahammud advocated the cutting off of an Infidels neck. He also advocated cutting off fingers of both hands if a person would not become a Muslim. Want more? A Muslim cannot ever leave the faith for if he/she does she is to be killed. Muslims should never mingle with Christians or Jews because they will become contaminated. More? Muslims are required to convert all non-believers to the Islamic faith in a Jihad if necessary. Killing the non-believer is permitted, even sanctioned. The reward for killing non-believers who will not convert and if you are killed while doing so is instant removal to heaven and the Gardens above where 72 virgins are awaiting you. I can go on. It gets even gorier.

What aggrevates the situation in the UK is that Islamic communities along with other groups (from south Asia) live in towns and estates that are predominently occupied by those of the same background. What I feel would help is by having cross school exchanges between different towns where community work or school activities are joint. It has to start from young otherwise it'll end up the with the same cycle of mistrust.

i wish i knew. i am muslim, i am not native to uk. i have been here 1 year now. i am not particularly active in any muslim uk community, just floating through life.but as a muslim i feel it. i feel my identity being placed under a spotlight regularly. i hear people who have no clue, concept or understanding of islam debate about my religion, it seriously worries me.... i think every age and society needs an evil, needs something to overcome to make their banal lives seem worthwhile - and for this century, they have made it islam and muslims, or so it seems.... eg. i have never in my life been offended by pork, alcohol, xmas, why should i be? i am not eating or drinking or celebrating it? yet - media tells me 'muslims' are offended by this - wish they could promote harmony instead of creating distrust with incorrect media and sensationalism. even some christians dont celebrate xmas, yet are they offended by it? is this newsworthy ? not newsworthy to them, cos it doesnt promote animosty, their main aim.....

it particularly is not racist in any respect. the 1st responder is stable...it particularly is approximately political correctness. the two the U. S. and uk government are have not any balls. i'm American and that i think while you're right here in the U. S., talk English and assimilate into this lifestyle. a fact via Theodore Roosevelt, 1919: "in the 1st place we could desire to continually insist that if the immigrant who comes right here in stable faith will become an American and assimilates himself to us, he would be taken care of on an actual equality with everyone else, for it extremely is an outrage to discriminate against one among these guy using fact of creed, or birthplace, or foundation. yet that's predicated upon the guy's starting to be in very fact an American, and not something yet an American... There could be no divided allegiance right here. Any guy who says he's an American, yet something else additionally, isn't an American in any respect. we've room for yet one flag, the yankee flag, and this excludes the purple flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, in basic terms as much because it excludes any distant places flag of a rustic to which we are opposed...we've room for yet one language right here, and that's the English language...and we've room for yet one sole loyalty and that's a loyalty to the yankee human beings."
