Masturbation Frequency:
http://www.jackinworld.com/misc/faqtree1.html#mastfreq

How often does the average male masturbate?
It depends on a lot of factors, the most important being age. For an 18-year-old male, a rough average is once a day or so. This is slightly higher for younger teenagers — maybe 10 or 12 times a week, and slightly lower for older people. You might be surprised by how often adult men masturbate — even happily married men.

I think I'm addicted to masturbation. Is that possible?
It is, although many, many people think they're addicted when they're really just doing what comes naturally. For more on this topic, read the article Is Masturbation Addictive?(http://www.jackinworld.com/library/articles/addict.html).

How can I masturbate less often, or quit altogether?
It's tough; it takes a lot of will power. It can be done, especially if you're driven by very strong religious feelings. However, JackinWorld's position is that it's not worth it. We think you should enjoy the harmless pleasures your body can provide.

Connection between ejaculation frequency and prostate health
http://www.goaskalice.columbia.edu/4961.html

QUESTION:
I have been coming across articles on the connection between masturbation, ejaculation, and overall health. I was very surprised about this article from the Cancer Council Victoria in Australia . It was a study that confirmed that ejaculation frequency is important for a healthy prostate. The protective effect was most significant in men in their twenties who ejaculated on average 7 or more times per week. It compared this against same-age men who ejaculated less than 3 times per week. I made a New Year's resolution to pay attention to my body and to ejaculate at least once a day. I feel much better for it and my penis strength and sexual urge has increased immensely. I feel balanced. After a year, I can't imagine going back to my old repressed frequency and probably couldn?t keep from cumming for a whole day if I tried now. Why aren?t people made aware of this need? After getting used to daily +, I often have the urge to do it even more, but hold back. Are there any physical problems with over ejaculating?

ANSWER:
What a fabulous New Year’s resolution to pay attention to your body! Your efforts are worth applauding, as being in tune with yourself and your new masturbation schedule seems to have paid off, as you note that you feel “balanced” and “much better for it.” Happily, no physical problems are associated with over-ejaculating, so don’t worry about giving in to the natural urge to enjoy and pleasure yourself more often. You clearly have a strong awareness of the positive effects of masturbation on your body, so go ahead and experiment with masturbation frequency – in this way, you can determine what frequency feels best for you and your regular routine.

You also ask why people aren’t made aware of the “need” to masturbate often. Good question – especially in light of the study’s findings that frequent ejaculation helps reduce the risk of prostate cancer. Unfortunately, self-stimulation – as with most sexual acts – is often viewed as shameful, dirty, immoral, and all sorts of other negative adjectives. Wouldn’t it be great if masturbation could be seen as the healthy, enjoyable, and beneficial activity it really is, openly talked about and (gasp!) endorsed? Perhaps one day it will be – with more people like you who are open-minded and bold enough to talk about it in a positive light.

Enjoy – and pass that article along to friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, and anybody and everybody else!

Masturbation is not sinful, but like all questions in the world, its debatable.

In my own personal opinion its not. Masturbation is as normal as every other need you have in life, from eating and drinking to sleeping and running.

Your body requires alot and those needs should be tended to whenever necessary.

Masturbation however isnt talked about alot, and should be kept private, but yeah, masturbation is very common.

If your seeking some help regarding morals, then consider that in the bible, god does not get mad at masturbation. He was upset that the guy was supposed to get that gal pregnant and do as he was told, but he pulled out and you know.. purposefully missed, therefore disobeying our lord. I dont think our lord was uspet because it would take all day long to scrub the floor clean -- he was upset that his command wasnt heard.

If your asking for just normal advice regarding the act, i think alot of people will tell you the same thing -- Its ok to masturbate, and VERY normal.

Even if you dont masturbate, you know what happens to your seed? Your body pushes it into your bladder after a few days, where its expelled while pee'ing.

And lastly.. True, you really dont NEED to masturbate, and it can be avoided. But still, some things are healthy for you, and if you got the urge, take care of it, lol (that made me laugh a lil :) )

Masturbation also helps relieve lots of stress in life, and can leave you in better spirits throughout your day. It also stimulates your reproductive organs, making them healthier and giving you less chance for developing cancers.

I can't give you any information pertaining to your religious beliefs, as I do not believe on pushing any religion one way or another. However, I am Catholic so it's not like I don't know where you're coming from. So, without talking about the sinful feeling, I will only respond to the question regarding frequency. Masturbation is different for everyone. Some do it everyday, twice a day, one a week, etc, etc. There is no right or wrong way or frequency to doing it. This is why masturbation is a private thing, and it varies from person to person.

This person(s) in the church who told you it's sinful have a very powerful effect on you! You make a very easy to hypnotise subject!

Stop 'shoulding' yourself, your duty as a son or a human being doesn't crumble if you stop being so perfect! I wouldn't apply the "if it feels good, do it" concept across the board for everything. But if you get good feelings from masturbation, don't deny yourself. For a time. Guilt and shame does more harm than good if you are obsessed with it. But of course, if you have committed a crime (those acts which society deems as criminal activity with a legal sentence to them), you should feel the guilt and shame. And pay for it. Be discerning. Masturbation cannot be considered a state responsibility. Some churches would like to take charge of most everything about a member's life; I find this repulsive, irresponsible. There are some things a Christian needs to decide for himself what he wants to do as far as his own body is concerned, that doesn't harm anyone. Be discerning.

Well, I personally do not believe that masturbation is sinful but if you do that is your issue. Don't be too worried about getting erections, as your body grows you will get them more frequently and by the time you are 21 you wont get them as often.

Theres no way to really control how often you have an erection but here are some ways to get it down so you dont have to think about masturbation:

1) think of your mother naked (eww thats gross right?)
2) if you are straight then think about going into a swim meet with a bunch of gay guys in speedos
3) if you are gay think of going into a swim meet with a bunch of females in bathing suits
4) if none of that works then take an ice cube and put it on your erection, it will go down ...

Girls do masturbate there just not as open about it as guys. stats say that 70%-75% male admit to masturbating where only 15-20% of girls admit to it but that number is really far off as the real number for girls is around 50-60%
