If the USA pulls out now, it will be pure violence and bloodshed in Iraq, utter chaos. Everyone knows that.
I believe that the levels of violence we are seeing in Iraq now will seem like nothing compared to what will happen if US forces pull out.
Many of the militants in Iraq and their sympathizers, especially in the media, say that the USA is the cause of all this bloodshed in Iraq. This is not a fully correct statement, in fact i can go as far as saying that it is wrong, simply because it is not US forces that are killing Iraq civillians, it is the Iraqis themselves. What do those people who blame US forces think will happen once US troops are withdrawn?
Will Shiites and Sunnis come out of their trenches and hug each other? Will Kurds suddenly say "yes, we are now Iraqis and want to live in peace with our Arab brethren"? That is complete nonsense. It won't happen.
I am never the less beginning to believe that maybe yes, pull US forces out and let Iraqis kill themselves, let them bleed themselves white. Maybe several years, or decades, of killing will finally convince each sect that they must find a way to live with each other. Or maybe not.
Either this or just divide the country back to the three provinces it was before the first world war. Prior to the 1920's there was no Iraq. There is no Iraqi national idenity, it is not a nation in the traditional sense of the word. It might have been a state at one point, but not a nationa and those are very different things. This is one of the main reasons that they hate and kill each other on a daily basis.
We will see. The status quo cannot go on for long.

The imperative way is to find immediate solutions agreeable to all sides of the coin from Iraq's divisive religious sectors, neighboring countries, the USA, EU/NATO, China, Russia, Israel
the Arab countries. It is very, very urgent to stop the silliness of Iraqis killing each other NOW. US Forces can pull out anytime if all Iraq people will start to live in peace and no more sectarian brutal infightings/sectarian violence and a New Strong, Respected Iraqi New Government is installed.

I think the wisest strategy is to Balkanize Iraq. Divide the country up among the Shiites, the Kurds and the Sunnis and the Christians giving each its own country. It seemed to also work for Bosnia/Sarajevo. I don't think there is any other choice because a united Iraq is impossible now that the tribal breakdown has taken place.

NO!!! I believe that what Donald Rumsfeld said is correct! If we pull out, Al Quida will take control of Iraq, and then sweep out through the rest of the rest of the Middle East, then get to Europe and the rest of Asia. We cannot afford to lose this battle. This battle is worth everything to keep the human race preserved. People are saying that we should pull out because we are losing to many soldiers. That count is gonna look a lot worse if we pull out. But the problem is that these damn Dems keep pushing it to pull out. They know nothing about war! The dems are going to end us all! We cannot let them win the presidency. Because if we do, they will make the soldiers pull out. I pray that day never comes.

considering that the death toll for the US has surpassed 9/11, i think it would be wise to count our losses, god bless everyone of them, and bring our soldiers home before more and more die. most of the people stating we should stay over there DONT have anyone over there to worry about. republicans have always been war happy, battle junky, power hungry act now, think later individuals while in office. i can only sympathize with the families that have lost someone in a battle that was not started or fought for the right reasons. i endured 364 days without my husband while he was stationed in Baghdad through '05 and let me tell you, with every ring of the telephone, every rap at the door, my heart stopped for a few seconds until I knew he was safe and the call/visit wasnt to tell me my husband died helping people that didnt even know his name. I understand that these people need help but sacrificing our own for their wellbeing is only hurting one nation to assist another. Losing americans over there isnt going to improve their conditions until they realize that killing each other in the streets isnt the way to live. those middle eastern countries have been that way for years and years, why go in now, why pick a fight now? this was supposed to be about finding weapons of mass distruction which were NEVER found then it turned into Bush's personal crusade over night. Who is he to sign the death warrants of his own soldiers? God help us if we get another republican in office in '08. just for reference, Spc. Ronald E. Frey served his country from jan '05 to jan '06 and I am DAMN proud of him. May God protect the rest of our sons, brothers, husbands, and fathers until this living, breathing nightmare ends.

we pulled out of Korea, and Vietnam before we had finished the job,and we are still paying the price for that today. If history has taught us anything it's that we better stay until this thing is finished

Not about right or wrong anymore.
Pull out and damn the consequences - happy loved ones of the US military at home; very happy Iran, Syria, Palestine; very worried Israel, KSA, Guld States, Jordan.
Who are you going to please? There's too many "i-told-you-so" movements worldwide - the US-UK would be a laughing stock.

They don't want us there, and I don't want our people there. Bush started the war for the wrong reasons, it's about time people are coming around.
I think Bush and anyone else that sides with him should go over there and fight the war.
